Lufthansa logo proposal

Lufthansa's recently rebranding inspired me to take a shot at redesigning its logo myself. While the logo did need an upgrade, it was the graphic which needed to change. The drawing of the crane (which has been retained) comes across as dated and blocky.

I am disappointed that the new scheme has discarded the airline's iconic yellow color. Not only was it widely associated with Lufthansa's identity, it is also visually striking as it is uncommon among airline liveries.

Here is what I would have done. Keeping the yellow, I changed the silhouette of the bird to a sleek and streamlined shape by making it curvier. It is also taking off at a steeper angle, implying greater ambition. The circle behind is reduced in size to show a shrinking world, and the uncontained bird now represents breaking boundaries and crossing new frontiers.

Let me know what you think!
