Evaluating UI Design: Squint Testing

Sometimes, to evaluate design decisions, I greyscale and obfuscate my type. A simple "squint test" to see how hierarchy, focus and affordance is feeling.

Useful when wireframing, but can also help to take a step back with a more polished stage of design, too.

Helps deciding where colour or other tools can improve usability or make an interaction more/less obvious (as required).
