Logo Design: Sony (SIEE) Immersive Technology Group

The Stereoscopic 3D Gaming team at Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe required a new logo and identity to represent the transition of the team's role from 3D Gaming to Virtual Reality and Immersive Technologies, and as UI & Graphic designer on the team I was tasked with creating the new identity.

Upon initial sketching it was clear the visual for the new team was to represent two "sides" of the same world, and this was to be shown through the abbreviated letters I - T - G and accompanying shapes that were so recognisable within the PlayStation brand.

From very early into the development we liked the idea of a slice through the letters where one might be fully immersed in colour and the others only partially becoming immersed, or something along those lines. This would be symbolic of the group of letters/symbols being classed as the same body, but perhaps this body looks different when seen through a different medium.

Over 100 designs later we eventually reached a final design!
