    Rutherford B. Hayes, the 19th U.S. President, visited Austin in 1849 and referred to our town as an “inconsiderable village with large expectations." He wrote that the town was “full of discharged Rangers, officers and soldiers, gamblers, and others. Fierce whiskers, gaming, and drinking very abounding in all quarters.” We thought he nailed it. Fierce Whiskers Distillery will produce Bourbon and Rye in Austin, Texas coming in 2020.
