The Canadian butcher

The idea of this small project was going back to the roots. Back to the roots?¿?.
I have recently done all my sketches with the Apple pencil on my iPad and thought: oh nice its so easy to do small corrections and start over. But I more and more realised that I gonna loose something. And in my opinion (influenced by reading a lot how illustrators work) this something was creativity. You get blocked in your creative process and flow when just working on a digital device for sketches. So back to the roots in my case means using paper and pencil.
This is my first illustration where I started my sketches and refinements on paper. And I have to agree with all the well known illustrators that the creativity improves and the result is much better when starting on paper and doing refinements over and over. After all my sketching I used trace paper and outlined the drawing before I scanned it and brought it to live in Adobe Illustrator.
