X-rays
Many of my icons and illustrations are inspired by real events and experiences from my life. In August, 2014 I flew to Iceland to run the Reykjavik Half-Marathon. I trained for 7 months like a madman and got my per-mile pace down to 7:15 - damn good time for a man of 200 lbs and 44 years of age at the time.
The day of the race I KILLED IT. I was clocking at 7:15-7:30 per mile for the first 8 miles, well below my 1:45:00 target. Sadly, in mile 11 I tore my patellar tendon. But, even with the injury and hobbling across the finish line, I finished in 1:48:16 in my very first half-marathon. I hope it is not my last but I'm still working on recovery 3 years later.
