No Holds Bard Cover

This year I'll be creating a comic series called "No Holds Bard" with Eric Gladstone and this is the TPB design that I recently did in preparation for the project.

The story is very snarky and pursues Shakespeare as a Batman like character solving crimes in 1600s. The artwork is much more cartoonish inside, but I wanted to create a very fanciful and classical piece for the cover that looks almost carved in stone, or worn away over time.

The left hand side is the back of the jacket and will include copy and a barcode. Also, I've included the black and white line work of the piece prior to coloring as well as the first initial sketch, which as you can see was flipped for the final.

The project will get started in April. More to come soon!
