Smokestack Logo - Magnolia Brewing Company
Smokestack at Magnolia Brewing is a completely nuts brewpub n' barbecue joint tucked into a shiny new brewery in San Francisco’s post-industrial Dogpatch neighborhood. The building was originally a factory owned by the American Can Company, the corporation that manufactured the world’s first beer can.
I based the brand in part on ASCII. People think of ASCII as a computer art, but the moment the typewriter arrived artists were like this is bonkers and began experimenting with design possibilities. So supporting this brand are images and graphics created entirely from typewriter.
I also designed the interior, hand-applied the finishes, built the lights, etc. How about that! Really cool project.
