Washington DC Flag redesign

This one was a little tricky because I wanted it to symbolize the city and keep a very regal style. Peace is symbolized by the laurels. This also calls back to the heavy greek influences on the cities architecture. The three stars symbolize both the 3 branches of government, Executive, Legislative and Judicial, as well as the 2 border states of Maryland and Virginia plus DC itself. Finally, the Roman numeral for 1790 is represented as the MDCCXC. 1790 was when Washington became the capital of the United States.
