Daily Ui Challenge 099 - Categories

On the second to last of my Daily UI challenges I went for an interface that envisions a simple and clean way to select sounds based on percussion type. I think that the music software industry is a huge frontier for interface designers that has only begun to be explored. Interfaces of professional audio products are often complex, dark, foreboding, and attempt to re-create the experience of using real equipment which for many producers, is completely foreign. I believe better UI will help lower the barrier to creating music with products in the future, and that the complexity of the creative process does not equate to quality.
