Houston Longhorns
Team 17/32 of #TheUFLProject – the Houston Longhorns.
The Houston Longhorns franchise is named after the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the largest livestock exhibition and rodeo in the world. It is known as the city’s equivalent to New Orleans’ Mardi Gras, Dallas’ Texas State Fair, and New York’s New Year’s Eve at Times Square. The franchise’s mascot is the Texas Longhorn, a breed of cattle with horns that can span over 6 feet. They are said to be descendants of the first cattle brought by Christopher Columbus to the New World.
The Houston Longhorns sport a black, rustic orange, and hide color scheme – all present during an HLSR event. They feature two horns on each side of the helmet, derived from the primary longhorn logo. The secondary logo (attached) is an “H” formed through a stylized lasso, and the team’s custom typeface is crafted with a western edge.
