Facebook Messenger Ads (2017)
The team I managed was short-handed, so I stepped in as individual contributor to design ad formats for Messenger's home screen.
I reviewed results from an earlier test, and consulted with designers from Facebook's core app and Instagram to understand what they'd tried, and learned, in developing their own ad designs. From there, I presented several rounds of options to the Messenger Monetization team, discussing and iterating after each.
The goal: Provide a coherent set of designs across ad formats that build on Facebook's preexisting knowledge, are identifiable as advertisements, and feel at home in Messenger.
