Jaku - Mobile Safari

Andrey Grabarchuk sent me his take on Mobile Safari via Twitter a few days ago for a critique. I was impressed. Enough so that I took a long look at my own icon and realized I could to better. What struck my in Andrey's design was what he called "whips" (exactly what it sounds like). They made the water, well, to coin Apple-speak, magical.

So I sought to produce a similar effect. I was trying to produce lavish, sea-faring colors that would lead to a rich, deep, nautical feel. That part I am very pleased with. Actually, I am (for once) happy with my Safari icon. For some reason, I could never produce anything that I truly fell in love with.
