Still experimenting with an app that should come in handy, especially for travellers.

What worries me is that such an app would probably drain your battery, as “Location Services” should be always on, so the app can access people's location at all times and locate them on a public map.

Another solution I have is, perhaps the algorithm can be smart enough and ask for GPS coordinates once per minute as a background process, so the “Location Services” would be toggled on and off as a background process.

The result will be not so accurate display of people's location, but the point of the map in the left screen is to show an approximate distance, while on the right screen, a person has already agreed to meet another person and in that scenario “Location Services” should be always on in order to show an exact distance.

Anyone having more technical knowledge of how this might work?
