Scribd- "Page not found"

Part of the system of empty and error state illustrations done for Scribd's 2016-17 rebrand project.

I had a ton of variations for the 404/page not found page, this is the one we ended up releasing. Also attaching a person favorite from the explorations I did. Something about moby dick coming through the book just screams 404 to me. However, the origami butterfly book pages are nice too.

The spot illustration colors were adapted to this more subdued palette to help further emphasize the empty/error user cases. I kept a single accent color on the focus element to help tie it to the context.
