10x17 – #3 Bus Gas - “Live On Leave Us”

Bus Gas is a minimalist/maximalist quandary - I visualize it like a rope, a single vector made up of thousands of smaller threads of sound intertwined together. At first glance it feels incredibly simple, but when you listen closely, there’s so much more. It has a special place in my heart simply put because one of my best friends @Eric Nyffeler made this record with Thomas Flaherty - when someone you are close to makes something that seriously impressed you, it’s a special feeling. “Live On Leave Us” is a soundtrack of the midwest only a few of us have ever felt or heard before. A jet propulsion of emotion across a lonely landscape of swollen chords and analog heat. I credit Eric with teaching me a lot about music creation and appreciation, so this one’s for him.
