Elegant Image Slider

This is a concept for listing detail page for a rental search site. I'm fine tuning the interactions of the image slider. Currently, when the user's mouse lingers over the image for a heartbeat, the page transforms into an in-between state—dimming the page with a transparent background, bringing focus to the image. At that point, controls and actions essential to the image either appear or moves closer to the image. The user can ignore this or can go into the full modal mode by engaging the "<" ">" arrows. When that occurs the transparency becomes fully opaque. Once the user exits this mode the controls and action links move back into their original position.
