I've always enjoyed practicing what Dieter Rams preaches in his 10 principles of good design, especially as I create more and more user interfaces. Lately I've been thinking about how "Good Design Makes A Product Understandable." At best, it is self-explanatory.
My team and I had a question earlier this month regarding adding an address; How can we help users complete this task as quickly as possible with little to no friction?
The result is switching around some fields for the address group. We've added the country selection as the first option, because this will set up the ZIP, City and State fields. If the user selected a country other than United States, then these fields will change appropriately. When the user enters in their ZIP, the city and state will be automatically populated. Our assumption is that this will improve the user experience and we're excited to test our hypothesis (and iterate as needed!)
