NYC Marathon Tracker

Super proud of my good friend Colin for finishing the NY Marathon the other day. But was disappointed in the tracking app, so I did a quick redesign updating the design language and tweaking some ux features like highlighting "share" and "photos" which were previously below the content. Also added a quick select for miles/kilometers so you didn't have to take up extra space writing out both every time.

Also wanted to add a map because if you're gonna track someone in a marathon knowing where they are would seem like the most important piece of info. It'd be hard to get an exact location on every runner but to at least estimate and show the last marker they passed would be an improvement.
