Don't design for mediocrity.

Creating to appeal to bad ideas and taste is compared to giving away your true essence. We're created to be creators, in mind, spirit body and soul. To all these a sacred commitment we have, no matter how "bad" the work might sound, is the duty of the designer to make it work and be beautiful.
