Button Depth

I always wonder how much "progress" we've been making as we (designers in general) try to make things more and more simple.

I'm all for streamlining design and keeping things clean, but sometimes I miss the character and depth a lot of UI elements use to have.

I put together this basic comparison just as a design/thought experiment to look at how we've evolved as an 'industry'. Looking back I think we had more inspired and creative UIs.

Or maybe that's just the nostalgia talking ;)
