Without several key players in the lineup — Mookie Betts, Eduardo Nunez, and Dustin Pedroia are all nursing injuries — the Sox offense had a hard time getting going. Chris Sale had an uncharacteristically bad start, giving up eight hits in five innings, including four home runs — two to Josh Donaldson. Tuesday night’s game marked the sixth time Donaldson has hit two home runs in a single game this season.
