All Things UNCHARTED - Redesign - Article Post Info

I'm trying to get away from the typical blog feel by the cliche post title, post date, tag list, category and author link most blogs have.

So, internally, I've decided that "article" is the new "post," tag lists will be buried at the bottom of the article (does anyone actually use these?), and the author information will be right up front.

Why click to the author profile link (that usually just shows you everything they've written) if you just want to know how to contact them? I'm thinking I can actually go for a maximum of 5 social/contact links, but am concerned it would get too close to the article copy. Perhaps I'll stay with 5.

Additionally, since I don't want people staring at this section, I've opted not to put it in a box or give it some sort of background to make it pop more. The user's eyes should go from the title, to the post image (seen on the left) to the copy below that.

I've also decided to put the author information at the top of the article for 2 reasons: first, so it doesn't get lost in the sea of buttons and avatars and links users will deal with when it comes to commenting/discussion. Second, to encourage guest posting as much as possible: readers will likely turn to contributors when they see that they'll be given prominent credit to the article! :)
