Apogéo
I’ve decided to start documenting every experience I have while traveling abroad through printed publications featuring writing, illustration, and photography all by yours truly.
In Spanish, apogéo means apex or apogee — the highest point or climax of something. In many ways, traveling for leisure mirrors that sentiment, the feeling of being elevated beyond your perspectives and familiarity. This series is an exercise in conveying that through a written and visual journal of those experiences.
This past summer I went to El Salvador, which is where my father is from. This is a sample of an idea for the cover of what will be the first volume: Fatherland.
Stay tuned for more. Hoping to wrap up the first volume sometime this Fall.
