a gauge to measure connection speed! 😂

Jokes aside, I designed this SVG illustration for Proctest – an end-to-end testing platform used by NATO and the US Army. One of the technical requirements for taking a test is a reliable internet connection. The platform measures and evaluates that in real time and only allows test takers to proceed if they have sufficient speed.
Previously, this information was communicated via a success or failure message after the measurement was performed. We decided to add a real time visual representation of the measured speed in order to relieve anxiety and keep the user's attention. While the test is running, the needle moves according to the actual connection speed.
