How do you define a spot on the map — its unique culture, multi-faceted character, long history and vibrant spirit?

That was The Abbi Agency’s task with Butte County, a destination that had been absent from the travel and tourism marketing landscape. Having a blank canvas in California travel marketing is both an incredible opportunity and a daunting challenge.

We did it by lugging 40 pounds of camera gear to remote waterfalls and taking pre-dawn trips down winding country roads to catch radiant sunrises. We navigated cliff-side catwalks and tasted sun-drenched berries. We may have even sipped a Sierra Nevada Brewing specialty brew or two. Immersing our team and feeling the heartbeat of Butte County translated into an authentic name, brand, logo and campaign.
