Hurricane
I am a born and raised South Floridian and I love my beautiful state. I was a kid when Hurricane Andrew hit. I remember the sound of howling wind and clinging to my dad, scared, and wrapped in his arms; he says there was a "puddle of sweat between us." In high school, we lost 3 giant trees to Wilma. One including my childhood treehouse. Now, I am faced with one of the most stressful, scariest hurricanes to make landfall to Florida once again. I am praying that we are all safe and secure and are taking this hurricane seriously. Us South Floridians have gotten pretty lackadaisical in response to preparing for hurricanes in the past, after having so many boy-cried-wolf storms. This is NOT a storm to gamble with. Please hunker down my friends; hide in your closets, laundry rooms, etc, and enjoy the time without power, sweating and enduring this storm with your family. Be kind to others. Let's unite. Much love.
