Red Sox Scores: September 2, 2017

Game No. 136

Other than a run scored on a wild pitch, the Sox offense couldn’t get through Masahiro Tanaka’s dominant performance on the mound. Yankees slugger Matt Holliday, fresh off the DL, mashed a three-run homer in the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie and help his team retake the lead and, ultimately, the game. The loss put an end to Drew Pomeranz’s career-high eight-game winning streak and allowed the Yankees to pull within four-and-a-half games of the top spot in the A.L. East.

For every Red Sox game this season, @Dan Perrera and I are visualizing the final score. Our ground rules: scores must be posted before the first pitch of the next game and must represent the final score. Home games are on a white background, away games on black, and the Red Sox are always red.
