Toilet Powder Ghost Sign Shirt
This is a project I did for Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. There is a "ghost sign" that is pretty prominent at the Park on one of the mountain faces – leftover from when this was common to advertise to train passengers. Attempts have been made to remove it in the intervening years, but it always seems to come back.
The idea here is to elevate the "quirk" and celebrate the weirdness of this attraction a bit. The gray shirt is meant to be mountain colored, with a distressed/mountainy texture applied to the sign and NPS text to give it a more integrated feel.
The sign artwork itself is based off an image of it from the early 1900's which was provided by the Park.
If you want to learn more about the history of this feature at Harpers Ferry and it's history, check out this PDF. It is not available online yet, but should be carried in the in-Park bookstore.
