Dynamically recoloring illustrations

This is one of the illustrations I created for Kirtan raga – a musical and educational project focused on the spiritual practice of kirtan.

This mountain artwork is the first of a series of nature inspired pastel illustrations that will be used as cover images for curated monthly collections of content on Kirtan Raga's upcoming website. Each illustration is 100% SVG and can be dynamically recolored in one of the six colors you see here.

Choosing an illustration color happens on the publication's CMS by picking a color option for the content collection. This automatically changes the color values in the SVG illustration and renders the respective color on the live website.

We wanted to offer a wide variety of color and artwork options for these content collections without going over time or over budget. That's why we decided to create 3 illustrations and build in the opportunity to recolor each one, effectively offering 18 unique illustrations or a year and a half's worth of content collections. ⛰🌈
