Will Hay

Did you know that Will Hay, one of the greatest sketch comedians of his time, discovered the Great White Spot on Saturn?
Apart from being an amateur astronomer, he was also an actor, author, film director, aviator, and a polyglot.
His quote, "If we were all astronomers, there'd be no more war." touches upon the astronaut overview effect. This is especially interesting because no one had ventured into space while he was alive. The futility of war is a subconsciously omnipresent thought that is often times ignored. If only people looked at the stars every night, I bet they'd have lived a lot differently.
