Red Sox Scores: August 13, 2017

Game No. 117

With a one-run lead in the ninth and flame-throwing closer Aroldis Chapman on the mound, the Yankees thought they had the game wrapped up but Red Sox rookie Rafael Devers stepped up to the plate and knocked a 103mph fastball into the stands to tie the game. In the top of the tenth, Boston loaded the bases, allowing fellow rookie Andrew Benintendi to knock in the game-winning run.

For every Red Sox game this season, @Amy Parker and I are visualizing the final score. Our ground rules: scores must be posted before the first pitch of the next game and must represent the final score. Home games are on a white background, away games on black, and the Red Sox are always red. Follow the whole project here or get weekly recaps in your inbox.
