Pixel Perfect Flags... Live :)

What started as a way to improve my vector skills in Sketch turned into a 1.5 month long obsession.

I originally wanted to create a set of minimal flag icons but there are so many complex designs in some country flags that it became an impossible ambition. So I set some rules:

- Everything has to fit to an 12px grid
- Remove lines where possible and use shades instead
- Work on the smallest possible size, make it look decent there and then scale up.. which meant removing a lot of unnecessary detail
- Redo emblems to fit the grid

I started by simply Googling each flag and designing them from there but for really complex emblems I needed a base. So I took them off Wikipedia and essentially redid 90% of them to the 12px grid. It took a while!
