Firefox Sidebar Experiments

I was recently asked to think of better ways to interact/communicate with our users. Here are some ideas I put together showing how sidebars in Firefox could possibly used.

Instead of prompting a user to take a survey with a notification bar, what if we just showed them the survey right away, removing the step of getting them to click through to it? Will engagement will be higher? Does the annoyance factor change?

If you use a website where we know an add-on will improve your experience, how should we tell you? In theory, a sidebar allows for a bit more real estate to convince the user to install it than a notification bar or door hanger.

These designs, as well as others, will be tested and iterated on if the interaction shows some promise.
