Treasure Chest: Part 1
So this is an ongoing project and has a lot of work still for me to do, but it was looking so good thus far that I wanted to post it up to show the gradual process I'm using to create the overall piece.
Final goal is to have a sweet treasure chest with a nifty looking locking mechanism and a bunch of treasure piled around it. I'm building my geometry for this in Illustrator using some nifty 30 degree isometric actions (check the attachment for the base vector form I use as a guide). Then I take that geometry and paint it up in Photoshop with my Wacom Cintiq Pro 16.
I'm still really near to digital painting and using the Cintiq, but am really enjoying it and I think getting the hang of it fairly well so far. This project isn't really for anything specific other than posting on Dribbble, but it's going to have a nice mixture of materials (wood, metals, gemstones, etc) so it's good practice and manageable in terms of scope.
More progress on this soon!
