SB50 Lockers
The Super Bowl 50 Host Committee Volunteers requested some signs to decorate their venue during the Super Bowl 50 which took place in San Francisco. Fans could walk this venue in order to request information or to look at some memorabilia.
I was commissioned (under Brentwood Reprographics) to create some signs in order to decorate the venue. The Committee provided the logos and some images of the Levi's Stadium and players. Inside the building they had some empty cabinets that needed it to be covered. One of the initial ideas was to make the cabinets looked as if they were the players’ lockers room from the two most famous Bay Area Teams, The 49ers of San Francisco and the Raiders of Oakland.
Unable to find a proper image to be used for the lockers I decided to create the lockers on my own. With a combination of perspective techniques, different wood textures, shadows, sport gear, and a lot of attention to detail I was able to create the lockers with the proper depth and realism utilizing Photoshop and Illustrator.
One challenged that I encountered during this project was making sure I didn’t violate any copyright rules, and as a result I had to remove multiple logos and slogans from the images they provided. Another challenge was the time frame, I had only one week to finalize all the designs and to get them approved by the Committee.
Another problem that I faced was budged-cuts, the Committee left out the 4 Lockers (4 panels measuring 8’x9.41’ each) this was devastating for me due to all the hard work but I understood things like this happen all the time.
In the end I was successful in finishing all the graphics and signs on time and able to make any last minute changes, I produce multiple signs, banners and graphics as well as setting up others for printing. Overall they were very happy with my work.
