Always be seeking feedback on your work. This is a crucial thing to be doing.
Imagine spending most of your career doing something you thought was right, but it's not giving you results.
Asking for feedback is the way to avoid doing this. The experience of others can definitely help you gain clarity on your goals, and crucial feedback on your work.
