The legendary Ephraim and I have been building weird shit like this for over a decade. His illustration on this alien is so funny. Reminds me of high school math class where you think to yourself ["holy shit this epic"]. Then you start drawing spaceships and stars and maybe some intergalactic space babes. Then the teacher looks at you and is like "Mr. Gonzales... do you have something you would like to share with the class?". After nearly shitting yourself, you take a deep breath and say... "uhh - no sir - I was just putting something away".

For the geeks - this is SVG sequence using a sprite. I fussed with it for a couple hours trying to align it perfectly, but you can still see a slight jitter in the animation. Oh well. The stars are animated with Javascript. Huge props to Greensock Animation platform. I could not be more stoked on the performance and transformations. Its all mobile responsive which is was no easy task as there is a lot of pre/re-rendering going on here. If you notice - I took special care to craft the trajectory of the stars. They originate from a baseline underneath the forground and form a cone shape that matches the aliens arm positions. Funschtuff.

PS this is my first GIF on Dribbble - I am curious to see how it turns out.
