24"x24" Oil on Canvas

So this piece totally didn't turn out as expected. I don't know how to even describe the process. Anyway, this painting started out as a composition based on the shadows my window blinds caused on the blank canvas. I thought it was pretty awesome looking and did a quick painting as the sun moves surprisingly fast when you try to paint shadows. So there the composition sat for a few weeks while I was working on another painting. When I started to work on this one, I just didn't know where to take it. The lines and composition, though fun, really didn't fit my style and I didn't want to fight it just to finish a painting. It would have lacked purpose and looked forced. So I figured I'd just painting in the new style I'm working in and see what happens. I like the results A LOT. Anyway, I tried to get the lines to show up through the layers as best as I could, though you may not be able to see it in the photo.
