The Red Sox got a solid start from Drew Pomeranz and back-to-back home runs from Andrew Benintendi and Xander Bogaerts. The bullpen buckled in the eighth inning though, loading the bases on two walks and a single and giving up a grand slam to Royals catcher Salvador Pérez to put Kansas City on top for good.
