The State of Deseret
Since moving to Salt Lake City I got real interested in The State of Deseret. Essentially, Brigham Young wanted to declare a huge theodemocracy stretching from down to Mexico and over to California in 1849. That idea was quickly shot down and he had to settle with what is today, Utah.
