City of Light

I designed this logo because I wanted to "shine" a light on Buffalo for it's unique history of becoming the first American city to have widespread electric lighting. With Nikola Tesla's and George Westinhouse design of the hydroelectric power plant they were able to harness the power of Niagara Falls. This allowed buffalo to receive electricity giving it the nickname "City of Light."

With this logo I wanted to capture the history by using the original electric tower. With the use of texture, color and fonts I was able to give the logo a deco vintage look to fit the era.
