Immanuel Kant

Composite Portrait of Immanuel Kant:

This process depicts an averaging of five known Immanuel Kant portraits.

Here portraits of the German philosopher are carefully mapped to average what begins to capture a new and perhaps closer semblance of Kant's appearance. The aligned sets of portraits reveal know features each artist separately captured.

In 1781 Kant published the “Critique of Pure Reason”, which is regarded as his attempt to explain the relationship between reason and human experience:

"Act only in accordance with that maxim through which you can at the same time will that it become a universal law."
