Life Made Me This Way

Back in high school I rode the school bus with a budding rapper named Chris Young. One day we got to talking about his music and he mentioned he had an album coming out and needed an album cover and/or artwork for it. I happened to have picked up Photoshop around that time, so I told him I could help him out. This was the first time I would make something "real" with what I had learned in Photoshop - my first client project, if you will. It was fun! I ended up doing the graphics for one or two more of his albums before he graduated.

Fast-forward 10 years...

Two months ago Chris reached out to me on Instagram to see if I was still doing graphic design because he had a new song coming out. I told him I wasn’t since nowadays I specialize in product design, but I decided to give it a shot anyways. I’ve hardly touched Photoshop in the last several years, so I gave it a go in Sketch and this is what I came up with.
