Despite giving up just three runs, reigning Cy Young winner Rick Porcello racked up his seventh loss of the season as the Sox offense struggled to rally behind him, managing to get on base only a handful of times. Seth Smith and Manny Machado each hit home runs in the first inning though the Orioles would have a harder time scoring as the game went on.
