Kiwibank is one of the largest, New Zealand owned banks in the country, and providing a seamless mobile banking app is core to user’s everyday banking experience.
Everything you’d expect from a mobile banking app is here, of course. You can check balances, transfer money, and make payments, as well as highlight features such as apple watch and touch ID.
On this project, I was the design lead, involved in the redesign and rebuild of the apps from the ground up to offer improved speed, security, and an enhanced user experience.
My design process involved understanding and analysing the existing mobile apps and running a series of workshops to derive the prioritised requirements from the stakeholders and user feedback. From that point, we dived into a series of design sprints where we iterated with wireframes, and clickable prototypes to streamline the designs, before implementing UI design. Designs were communicated to developers through Zeplin.
The concept of the design was to provide much-improved experience upon existing core banking features while building the navigations the core user experience with the flexible to grow through the addition of more features in the future.
