Meitu Mindstrips

Meitu, one of the largest phone producers in China, asked me to be part of their artist series. I was asked to make an illustration for the backside of the phone and design the packaging.
The idea behind the illustration was to focus on the camera, since I think it’s pretty cool a phone these days is more and more a device to collect memories with. The energy and happiness that memories give were the starting point for the feeling I was after. I created ribbons as a metaphor for memories because of their flow and energy. Also I think it’s cool how personal memories intertwine and relate to each other; as well as how other peoples memories intertwine with yours.
