Tu Youyou

Part of my 100 day project focusing on 100 badass ladies. Tu YouYou (屠呦呦) is a chemist who discovered artemisinin, which is used to treat malaria and has saved millions of lives. In 2015, she became the first Chinese Nobel laureate in physiology or medicine, and the first Chinese woman to receive a Nobel prize.
