Red Sox Scores: May 3, 2017

Game No. 27

With tensions running high between the Red Sox and the Orioles and the umpires determined to keep the peace, Baltimore starter Kevin Gausman was ejected in the second inning after inadvertently plunking Xander Bogaerts with what appeared to be a poorly thrown curveball. O’s center fielder Adam Jones, who received a standing ovation from Fenway fans the night before, was thrown out of the game for arguing balls and strikes. Sox third baseman Josh Rutledge, filling in for an injured Marco Hernandez, drove in two runs to secure the win.

For every Red Sox game this season, @Amy Parker and I will be visualizing the final score. Our ground rules: scores must be posted before the first pitch of the next game and must represent the final score. New for this year: home games will be on a white background, away games on black, and the Red Sox will always be red.
