April 30 - White Sox vs Tigers

I’d started with a design that was about a million times busier. I walked away from it and let it simmer, then came back and hated every stitch of it. So I stripped it all out. Subtle color burn and that’s it. Jordan Zimmermann on the bump for the Tigers.

In 2017, I’m (trying) making a gameday graphic every day, for a sporting event happening that day. This is #120 and four full months in the books!

I crunched a few numbers for my first 120 pieces. In descending order: 32 basketball, 28 baseball, 25 soccer, 24 hockey, 3 football, 2 golf, and 1 each of fencing, tennis, bobsled, ski, surf, and marathon running. There’s a lot of missteps in there, but also some great discoveries and learning experiences. Keeping up this pace hasn’t been easy, but I’m hoping I can keep it going for another 245 days.
